Zo boven, zo ...(As above, so ...)


 

The constellation Ursa Major is probably the most famous constellation in the sky. Also called the "saucepan". “As above, so below”, is a statement by Hermes Trismegistus. Starting from the unity and connection of things above (the macrocosm) and below (the microcosm). The artist here gives a wink to the representation of what is happening in the sky and now down here in the canal in Zaltbommel. The white objects together form the constellation. The lines are the connection between the stars that you normally do not see in the sky.
